SIMPLE PRESENT (BE)

 WHAT IS IT?

Refers to a verb tense used to describe habitual actions, universal truths, or regular occurring events. In the case of the verbs 'to be', in the simple present.


AFIRMATIVE:

Subject + Verb in the present (am/is/are) + Complement

NEGATIVE: 

Subject + Verb in the present (am/is/are) + Not + Complement.                                                                     -Is not = isn`t.                                                                                                                                                -Are not = aren`t. 

INTERROGATIVE CLOSED:

Verb in the present (is or are) + Subject + Complement + ?

INTERROGATIVE OPEN:

Interrogative pronouns (where, when, why, who, what, etc) + verb in the present (is or are) + Subject + Complement + ?


EXAMPLE:

+ She is teacher.

- She is not teacher.

? Is she teacher?

? What is her profession?
